kamayan is a textile design inspired by Philippine kamayan feasts in which people gather around and eat off of banana leaves using their hands. I was challenged to create a compelling design utilizing a single motif and offsetting the pattern to create an interesting composition. This design was achieved by using Photoshop to create the repeat pattern, photo emulsion, and fiber reactive dyes to screen print.

The final swatch
I made fiber reactive dyes in a lime green, emerald green, and forest green. This created an analogous, monochromatic color scheme.
